Now don't think for a moment that I am talking about pros for Fusion 360, it has a number of (acceptable and expected) limitations due to it not being integrated with Inventor, rather everything above is a negative for HSM which is promoted as a premium CAM system and should match or improve on the features of Fusion 360. Is Inventor HSM the 'premium' product and Fusion 360 for hobbyists and startups, or is it the other way around? Not sure anymore. Fusion has faster release cycles so I'm not left waiting for features.I can give my machinists laptops with Fusion 360 on them and they can preview the paths and tools before they run them to check clearances, tool clamps etc. That or I have to get an entirely separate Inventor Pro licence. I don't need HSM pro at all but I need more than just vanilla Inventor for other work so I have to pay the same price as a Fusion 360 licence for extra functionality I don't need or want and then it's one licence that can only be used by one person at a time. When will I get it back? 'shortly' apparently. The single biggest drawcard for HSM over fusion is gone.
